- For the oven mitt:
- 20 cm (7-7/8 inches) fabric for the body
- 15 cm (5-7/8 inches) fabric for the headscarf
- 20 cm (7-7/8 inches) fabric for the lining
- 20 cm (7-7/8 inches) flannel
- 40 cm (15-3/4 inches) lace edging
- 2 m (78-3/4 inches) matching bias tape
- Matching sewing thread
- For the potholder:
- 20 cm (7-7/8 inches) fabric for the body
- 15 cm (5-7/8 inches) fabric for the headscarf
- 20 cm (7-7/8 inches) fabric for the lining
- 20 cm (7-7/8 inches) flannel
- 40 cm (15-3/4 inches) lace edging
- 1 m (39-3/8 inches) matching bias tape
- Matching sewing thread

Instructions
- Download the Russian doll potholder pattern and oven mitt template.
- Download the Russian doll face pattern 01 and face pattern 02.
Russian doll oven mitt
- Cut pieces A1 and A2 from the fabric chosen for the headscarf.
- Use fabric paint to draw the Russian doll face on A1.
- Or print the Russian doll face on transfer paper and iron it on.
- Cut piece B, 2 times, in the fabric chosen for the body.
- Pin A1 onto B.
- Sew A1 and B together with a zigzag stitch, switching to a tight zigzag stitch for the "knot" of the headscarf.
- Sew on lace edging.
- Fold ribbon in half and pin it at the top of A1 and B.
- Sew it in place with a zigzag stitch.
- Pin A2 onto B.
- Sew together with a zigzag stitch.
- Sew on lace edging.
- Cut piece C, 2 times, in the fabric chosen for the lining and 2 times in the flannel.
- Pin together A1/B, flannel C, and lining C.
- Sew 5 mm (1/16 inch) from the edge with a running stitch.
- Pin together A2/B, flannel C, and lining C.
- Sew 5 mm (1/16 inch) from the edge with a running stitch.
- Pin together the 2 pieces you've created, placing side A1/B against side A2/B (right sides together).
- Sew 5 mm (1/16 inch) from the edge with a zigzag stitch.
- For a clean finish, add bias tape on top of the edge stitching.
- Turn right side out.
- Add bias tape around the bottom opening.
Russian doll potholder
- Follow the same instructions as for the oven mitt, with these exceptions:
- Fold ribbon in half and pin it on top of A2.
- Sew the edge with a zigzag stitch.
- Cut piece C in flannel.
- Pin together A1/B, flannel C, and A2/B.
- Sew bias tape around the border of the potholder.
